Swindon ASC chase first place!

With a strong swim behind them, Swindon ASC closed the gap between themselves and Durrington, the leaders of their Summer League division, as they finished first place in Malmesbury last Saturday. In the second of four galas, Swindon arrived eager for a challenge, and showed great team spirit right from the start.

Cheered on by the whole team, the older swimmers proved that the years of training has paid off, with 9 first and 5 second places in the Open category. However at the opposite end of the age groups a strong improvement in the Under 12's was shown, with Hugo Ryder winning both his individual events.

The Under 14 age group was not without success. Emily Moore's Breaststroke win for the girls was a great race, with tough competition! Benedict Richards provided the U14 Boys a similar result, snatching a first place at his first ever Gala! The U14 boys also went on to show strength in numbers, winning their Medley Relay!

With two more Galas to go, the last at Swindon's home pool Milton Road, the swimmers will undoubtedly hope for a repeat performance, and with the great support from the poolside team and parents, there is every chance of success!
